In a Dnipro café, fraudsters paid with counterfeit money (PHOTO)

In Dnipro, scammers are using a new trick that is harming cafes. This was reported in the Facebook community "Our Left Bank 3," according to "Vydomo."

The fraudulent scheme involves criminals coming to establishments in the evenings, ordering coffee, and paying with souvenir money while concealing it with real cash. They then demand change, and if one does not pay attention to the details, the counterfeit can go unnoticed.

A local resident of Dnipro recounted an incident where she witnessed this fraud happening in one of the cafes.

It was evening, and my friend and I were sitting in a cafe. There was no one else in the hall except for us and the barista. Suddenly, a young guy walks in, orders coffee, and then runs out of the establishment. The barista rushes after him and then shows us a 200 hryvnia bill, which turned out to be a souvenir. Such bills are often altered with correction fluid or taped over to hide the warning inscription. So, be careful and check the banknotes,” – said the woman.

She also shared a photo of the counterfeit 200 hryvnia bill, which lacked the warning sign.
