Kryvyi Rih police reported suspicions against a local resident who stole 460 thousand hryvnias from a military person's bank account. This was announced by "Vidomo," referencing the Kryvyi Rih District Police Department.
The crime took place in July at a recreation center, where the perpetrator met the victim. Upon learning that his new acquaintance was a military man, he decided to take advantage of the situation.
The suspect removed the SIM card from the victim's phone, gained access to his personal account in the banking application, and transferred the funds to a controlled account.
Investigators and operatives, with the involvement of employees from the department for combating cybercrime in the Dnipropetrovsk region, identified the individual involved in the crime. He turned out to be a 30-year-old local resident.
On October 30, law enforcement informed the perpetrator of the suspicion under two articles of the Criminal Code of Ukraine: Part 4 of Article 185 (theft) and Part 1 of Article 361 (unauthorized interference in the operation of electronic computing machines (computers), automated systems, computer networks, or telecommunications networks).
