Ukrainian Armed Forces servicemen received meat with a needle. This was reported on social media on October 18 by people's deputy, chairman of the Public Council under the Kyiv City State Administration, and member of the Anti-Corruption Council at the Ministry of Defense, Gennady Krivoshea.
0"Guess what this is? The military discovered such a needle in frozen chicken. It is interesting to see what the supplier 'Mit Prom' will say about this. To me, it merely confirms that the chicken is 'drugged'," the deputy wrote.
He conveyed that all the products are being prepared for return, and the services of the Ministry of Defense are "working on the issue." The politician also reached out to DOT, requesting a review of the contract with the supplier.
In the comments, Krivoshea mentioned that the meat is planned to be sent to the Donetsk region.
1The State Enterprise "State Logistics Operator," controlled by the Ministry of Defense, responded in the comments under the publication. The press service thanked for "highlighting" the situation and explained it by the absence of a norm regarding the permissible level of water in meat. DOT assured that changes have already been initiated and sent the findings to the Main Department for the Development and Support of Material Supply of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
"Regarding this case. An investigation will be conducted. The entire batch has been recalled. The contract also provides for penalty sanctions of 20% on the entire batch of meat that was returned," the press service added.
Subsequently, DOT clarified that operational and economic sanctions would be applied against the supplier "Trade Granite Invest" due to the use of an annulled quality protocol.
"In the case of supplying low-quality products, the supplier is obliged to replace the batch within 48 hours and is subject to a fine of 20% of the value of the recalled batch," the press service explained.
2Recall that in early September, journalist Tatyana Nikolaenko stated that spoiled meat was delivered to the military at the front. She noted that the meat was pumped with water and medications.
On October 8, an investigation revealed that the stew for the Armed Forces of Ukraine did not meet standards, as it contained 22.4% skin and tendons instead of the promised 59% meat. DOT responded that they had not received complaints about the canned goods, and another body is responsible for quality checks.
