This was reported on Telegram by the mayor of Mykolaiv Aleksandr Senkevich.
"To address the aftermath, sorbent boom barriers have been allocated from Mykolaiv's material reserve, which specialists from the 10th platoon of the State Emergency Service have locally installed in the areas contaminated in the water body," Senkevich wrote.
"All these days, specialists have been pumping out the oil. So far, they have extracted 25 tons. The work is ongoing," he added.
According to him, there is no significant negative impact on the environment, as the oil is of organic origin.
Let us remind you:
This is not the first time that oil storage tanks in Mykolaiv have been damaged due to Russian drones. In October 2022, Russians struck the tanks of one of the leading sunflower oil exporters. At that time, rivers of oil flowed through several streets of the city.
