In Ukraine, 524 prosecutors hold the status of persons with disabilities. This information comes from the Office of the Prosecutor General, as reported by MP Alexey Goncharenko from the political party "European Solidarity."

He noted that there are currently 831 employees in the Ukrainian prosecutor's office who have the status of persons with disabilities, including 524 prosecutors. Within the Office of the Prosecutor General, there are 66 employees with disabilities, of which 26 are prosecutors. The Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office has three employees with disabilities, including 2 prosecutors.

Alexey Goncharenko added that in total, there are 762 such individuals working in regional and district prosecutor's offices, of which 496 are prosecutors. Among this number, there are 8 first deputies and deputy heads of regional prosecutor's offices who have the status of persons with disabilities. However, there are currently no employees with disabilities among the heads of regional prosecutor's offices.

"This means that up to 10% of prosecutors are disabled," the MP added.

Recall that on October 16, journalist Yuri Butusov reported that 51 prosecutors from the Khmelnytskyi region, led by regional prosecutor Alexey Oleynik, obtained disability status. Later, Prosecutor General Andrey Kostin resigned amid a scandal involving fake disability certificates. Employees of regional prosecutors' offices were mass-producing fictitious certificates.

Subsequently, it became known that the heads of several prosecutors' offices, who are under investigation for fake disability certificates and illegal receipt of increased pensions, submitted resignation letters. They obtained disability status for the sake of receiving higher pensions.
