On New Year's Eve, law enforcement will respond to violations of the curfew, and offenders may even be detained and taken to the police station. This was stated by the head of the National Police's Department of Preventive Activities, Maxim Akhrameev, during a telethon.
"The National Police and all units will respond to individuals found on the streets during the curfew. We will be understanding towards people for various reasons. If it was an urgent necessity or if someone needed to go to a hospital or had other valid reasons, we will approach it with understanding," he said.
According to him, violators of the curfew will be detained and taken to district police departments. However, he noted that there is no specific penalty for violating the curfew.
Maxim Akhrameev also pointed out that starting from December 24, the maximum number of law enforcement officers will be deployed to places with large gatherings of people. In addition, they will be on duty on the highways.
"We operate in every region, and each region has its own specifics. Some regions are experiencing combat actions, while others are bordering the Russian Federation. There are unique conditions for service in those areas," he explained.
It is worth noting that in Dnipropetrovsk region, a conflict occurred during a document check of a driver by patrol police officers involving a veteran from the 25th Separate Airborne Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine with the call sign "Yamaha".
