In Russia, a gas processing plant is ablaze following a nighttime drone attack. Here’s what we know so far (photos included).

The Russian city of Akhtubinsk was struck by a nighttime drone attack, resulting in powerful explosions near a local enterprise. Prior to the incident, the airport in the area implemented a "Carpet" plan.

Following the explosions, Russian Telegram channels reported the initial consequences of drone strikes. According to them, kamikaze drones targeted three facilities in the fuel and energy complex (TEC) in the Astrakhan region. Shortly after, it was reported that a nearby gas pipeline was also attacked. A fire broke out at the sites following the attack, with photographs of it being actively shared on social media.

Russians noted that during the attack, air defense "operated normally," and the fire, according to them, was ignited only as a result of one of the UAVs falling. The drone attack itself was labeled by Russians as an "attempt by the Armed Forces of Ukraine to strike."

No information is available regarding casualties or injuries resulting from the attack on the gas processing plant. The mayor of Akhtubinsk reported that no one was harmed during the assault.

In addition to the gas processing plant in Akhtubinsk, a refinery in Volgograd was also targeted by drones: eyewitnesses reported dozens of explosions there.

Earlier, it was also revealed about the consequences of strikes on the "Lukoil" plant: an analyst mentioned that Russia would lose tens of billions of dollars due to the attacks. Inflation and a sharp rise in gasoline prices are how blogger Ivan Yakovina describes the potential issues for Russians resulting from the drone attacks on the oil refinery in Kstovo.
