In Rivne, a driver ignored the requirement to stop during the daily minute of silence. He was fined, reported the patrol police of the Rivne region.
The incident occurred on January 27 at 09:00 in the center of Rivne. Police stated that upon the signal from the traffic regulator, all road users halted in honor of those who fell in the war. However, one driver behind the wheel of a Volkswagen Passat disregarded this stop and continued driving.
The offender was identified with the technical support of the "Community Safety Center" from the "Safe City Rivne" system. He explained that he was in a hurry, which is why he did not stop. The driver received a fine for violating part 2 of Article 122 of the Code of Ukraine on Administrative Offenses.
It’s worth noting that in Kyiv, recommendations were developed for conducting a daily nationwide minute of silence. Residents of Kyiv are advised to be notified about the start of the minute of silence via the "Kyiv Digital" mobile application, announcements in public transport, and sound alert systems in Maidan Nezalezhnosti and Khreshchatyk. An information campaign is also planned to remind people of the importance of this ritual.
If a traffic violation is recorded by an automatic camera, it can be appealed. This can be done within 10 days from the date of the relevant administrative offense decision by submitting a complaint to the authority that issued the decision and subsequently to the court. Overall, fines for traffic violations constitute the highest percentage, making up 21% of the total number of all debtors.
