The Armed Forces of Ukraine managed to push back Russian invaders from the city of Kupiansk in the Kharkiv region. This was reported on November 26 during a telethon by Nazar Voloshin, spokesperson for the operational-strategic group "Khortytsa."
He stated that the Russian Armed Forces are sticking to their usual tactics — attempting to advance in small assault groups and accumulate forces. They are not deploying a significant amount of armored vehicles.
"In that direction, we have managed to stabilize the situation, and the enemy has been pushed back from the city," — Voloshin assured.
According to him, even if a group of 8-10 occupiers manages to cross the river, only 2-3 fighters make it to the shore. Defenders are destroying enemy forces, and the situation is under the control of the Defense Forces.
The situation in the Kupiansk direction was also commented on during the telethon by Oleg Synegubov, head of the Kharkiv Regional State Administration.
"There are constantly enemy reconnaissance and sabotage groups testing the defensive positions of our military personnel and applying various tactics. They cross the Oskol River in boats and navigate through minefields," — he explained.
The head of the regional administration assured that the Armed Forces of Ukraine are identifying saboteurs and eliminating them on the approaches to Kupiansk.
"Active fighting has been ongoing in that direction for the second day now," — he added.
It is worth noting that the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrskyi, announced a counteroffensive by Ukrainian troops at the front.
Social media reported that a former prisoner recruited into the Russian Armed Forces attacked his "comrades," burned a vehicle with their bodies, and fled.
