Russian forces launched missile strikes on residential buildings in Odesa, resulting in casualties and injuries, according to the regional administration.

The Russian Armed Forces carried out a missile strike on Odessa. This was reported on November 18 by the chairman of the Odessa regional military administration, Oleg Kiper.

"There are casualties and injuries. Civil infrastructure has been damaged, including residential buildings," the head of the regional administration stated.

He later clarified that preliminary data indicates 8 people have died as a result of the attack. Another 18 individuals have sustained injuries.

"Among the injured is one child. Four people are in serious condition," Kiper reported.

The Mayor of Odessa, Gennady Trukhanov, noted that the victims of the strike "were simply going about their business."

"The enemy insidiously targeted a residential area, a zone of business activity," the city mayor explained.

MP Alexey Goncharenko, reporting from the scene, mentioned that two residential buildings are on fire. According to him, another missile, which did not explode, hit a building of one of the educational institutions in Odessa.

"It's just horrifying! The center of Odessa," the parliamentarian emphasized.

We remind you that after a combined shelling of Ukraine on November 17, power partially went out in Odessa, and emergency outages were implemented in the region. Residents of the city also complained about a lack of water. On November 17, the regional administration informed that of the seven districts of Odessa region, two remain partially without electricity.

In the night of November 18, the Russian Armed Forces also attacked Ukrainian cities. In the Sumy region, the enemy launched a missile strike, while air defense was active against Russian drones in five other regions.
