In various cities across Ukraine, a decrease in home internet speeds has been observed. This is due to the long-awaited release of the Ukrainian game S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 at 6:00 PM, which led its fans to start downloading the game, resulting in network overload for some providers.
"S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 has caused a real anomaly. Due to the mass downloading of this highly anticipated game in a multi-threaded mode, we are currently witnessing congestion on the external trunk lines of our partners. The reduction in internet access speeds may affect all subscribers. Unfortunately, this issue is beyond our direct control," stated the Odessa provider "Tenet."
The Kharkiv provider Triolan.Me also reports a decrease in speed due to game downloads by its subscribers.
"Currently, there is a temporary reduction in internet speeds across all directions. This is linked to the increased load on the channels due to the widespread interest in the release of the game 'S.T.A.L.K.E.R.,'" the statement reads.
In contrast, "Kyivstar" informed Forbes that they are experiencing no issues with speed, and their subscribers have not noticed any fluctuations.
"Our subscribers enjoy gigabit speeds, especially gamers, so thanks to this, the download speed of video games may decrease minimally, which is hardly noticeable for subscribers," the statement says.
We remind you that the developers at Nvidia have conducted testing of the capabilities of new graphics cards for the game S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 Heart of Chernobyl. The company announced that update 566.14 is now available for download via GeForce Experience or the proprietary NVIDIA App, which is exiting beta testing today.
