The North Korean unit that is located in the Kursk region attacked the positions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine near Mala Lokna. Enemy soldiers reached the fortifications carrying loads of up to 10 kg each — from assault rifles to spare magazines with ammunition. Thanks to the actions of the Ukrainian fighters, none of the North Korean military returned. Among them were a company commander and several other officers. Military journalist and editor-in-chief of "Censor.NET" Yuriy Butusov showed on his YouTube channel that he had with him the North Korean commander and described the course of the battle.

As the video recording shows, Butusov was allowed to examine the North Korean officer who died in the fighting near Kursk. The journalist displays the items found during the search and refers to this process as "unpacking." It is noted that the company commander, who had communication equipment and weapons, was eliminated. The event took place in the area of Mala Lokna, as explained in the video. The fight occurred in the region where the 22nd Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine is engaged, the author of the 17-minute report indicated. The North Koreans got very close to the positions of the 1st Mechanized Battalion of the 22nd Brigade and "stayed there completely until the last Korean."

"This is not just a soldier; this is a company commander of the North Korean special forces who attacked and was supposed to seize the Ukrainian positions at Mala Lokna, which is in the Kursk region," Butusov emphasized.

Here are the items found with the North Korean company commander:

  • documents — identification card of a serviceman of the Russian Armed Forces, company commander, lieutenant colonel from military unit 02492 (the unit is based in the Amur region of Russia). The document states the name — Ayaty [illegible] Kolodzinski. Butusov noted that these are cover documents;
  • a diary written in Korean;
  • combat boots with metal plates;
  • two assault rifles ("Vepr-12", AK-12) and ammunition;
  • a radio and additional power supply for the radio;
  • a map marked with key points and coordinates.

Among other things, the recording allows for a detailed examination of the map found in the pocket of the North Korean soldier. The map shows the area with key points and coordinates 51° 20′ 34.24″ N, 35° 12′ 32.66″ E. The indicated coordinates are 700 meters from the frontline near Mala Lokna, as marked on the map by DeepState analysts.
