A previously convicted man was detained in Dnipro after he pulled out a knife and attempted to stab his drinking companion.

In the Industrial District of Dnipro, an attempted murder occurred following a trivial argument. The police received a report about a fight near one of the stores. This information was reported by "Vидомо" citing the police of the Dnipropetrovsk region.

Upon arrival at the scene, law enforcement officers discovered a shocking sight: a 40-year-old man, with multiple stab wounds to the neck, was lying on the ground. He was urgently hospitalized in the nearest hospital in critical condition. Currently, the victim's condition remains serious but stable. His life is no longer in danger; however, he requires long-term treatment and rehabilitation.

According to preliminary investigation data, the conflict erupted between a group of vacationers and a 54-year-old man, who had previously been convicted multiple times for various serious crimes, including hooliganism and causing bodily harm.

According to some witnesses, it all began with a trivial verbal spat that quickly escalated into a physical confrontation. Witnesses stated that one of the vacationers attempted to separate the fighters but was pushed away. At that moment, the suspect pulled out a knife and inflicted several deep stab wounds to the victim's neck, damaging major blood vessels. These injuries were the cause of the victim's critical condition.

The suspect was apprehended within an hour after the crime was committed. A criminal case has been opened against the detainee under the article providing for punishment for attempted murder.
