The authorities stated that local police, in conjunction with border guards, detained a Mitsubishi Lancer vehicle near one of the settlements in the Kodym community, which was heading towards Moldova. The car was driven by a resident of the Odessa region, and there were four passengers from Kyiv and Poltava inside.

Law enforcement officials established that the driver was conspiring with an as-yet-unknown individual to assist the passengers in crossing the border outside of official checkpoints. He picked up two individuals in the Mykolaiv region, another two in the Odessa region, and was transporting them towards the neighboring country. The men were supposed to cross the border on their own.

"Such services cost the men $2,300, of which they paid $1,900 in advance and were to give $400 upon arrival at their destination in the Podilsk district," the police noted.

Authorities seized part of the money received from the driver along with the vehicle used for transporting the clients. He was arrested and charged with facilitating the illegal transportation of individuals across the state border of Ukraine by prior agreement among a group of individuals for selfish motives (part 3 of article 332 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). He faces imprisonment for up to nine years, along with a ban on holding certain positions or engaging in specific activities for up to three years, as well as the confiscation of property. The suspect has currently been placed in custody with the option of posting bail set at 242,800 hryvnias.

The passengers of the detained vehicle have been held administratively accountable. Protocols have been drawn up against them under part 1 of article 204-1 of the Code of Ukraine on Administrative Offenses for illegal crossing or attempting to illegally cross the state border of Ukraine.

It is worth noting that recently, writer Victoria Koltunova claimed that representatives of the TCC and SP allegedly grabbed her son Maxim in Odessa. He was taken out of the city despite having documents confirming his deferment from mobilization.

Additionally, it was reported that in Odessa, a car hit a veteran on prosthetics. The driver fled the scene, leaving the man sitting on the road.
