The relationship between U.S. President Donald Trump and Volodymyr Zelensky will continue, and there is still a long way to go before the end of the Russian-Ukrainian war. This was stated by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.
"I believe our relationship will continue because it is more than just a one-time affair. We need to be open," Zelensky said.
He also expressed gratitude to the American people and all other societies of states that support Ukraine.
"Support will continue because Ukraine's failure is not just Putin's success, it is not Europe's success, it is not the success of the U.S. I think we are all interested in not allowing Putin to win," Zelensky noted.
Additionally, the Ukrainian president stated that Kyiv is ready to sign an agreement on rare earth minerals, and the U.S. is allegedly "also" ready.
"If we agreed to sign a mining agreement, we are ready to sign it. The agreement that is on the table will be signed if the parties are ready," Zelensky emphasized.
The Ukrainian president explained that a deal to end the Russian-Ukrainian war is still a long way off.
"We are very, very far from an agreement to end the war. No one has started any of these steps," Zelensky said.
He stressed that peace must be just, honest, and sustainable, with very specific security guarantees and very specific bearers of those security guarantees.
"These security guarantees must be such that they completely eliminate the possibility of Russia coming with further aggression," Zelensky noted.
According to him, Ukraine has heard signals from various international partners, particularly from the U.S., but for now, "we are not talking about any concessions, as that would be an 'incorrect conversation'."
"But everyone must understand that Ukraine will never recognize any territories occupied by Russia as Russian territories. For us, this will be a temporary occupation," Zelensky emphasized.
Recall that Emmanuel Macron proposed to Ukraine to establish a ceasefire for a month.
On March 2, a security summit for Ukraine commenced in London.
