During the full-scale invasion of Russia, the sole reason for power outages in Ukrainian homes has always been the destruction of the country's energy infrastructure by the aggressor. This was emphasized by "Ukrenergo".
Currently, there is information circulating in Ukraine about the potential implementation of forced power outages next week due to the anticipated drop in air temperatures ranging from -5 to -10 degrees.
However, as energy specialists note, the expected temperature decline will not lead to significant issues and will not necessitate the implementation of restrictive measures.
"The situation in Ukraine's energy system remains stable. Energy professionals are considering all scenarios, including the possibility of a sharp drop in air temperatures," reads the statement from "Ukrenergo".
The operator also emphasizes that the sole reason for the forced implementation of outages has always been the destruction of energy infrastructure facilities as a result of Russian missile and drone attacks.
As a reminder, Stanislav Ignatiev, the chairman of the Ukrainian Renewable Energy Association, mentioned that on February 5, during peak consumption hours with a drop in temperature, there may be a deficit in the energy system. Typically, the expert explained, in such cases, energy professionals initiate emergency and stabilization outages.
