Ukrainians should not have to pay for medications, X-rays, or computed tomography (CT) scans when hospitalized for ARVI and COVID-19 illnesses. This was stated by Ukrainian Health Minister Viktor Lyashko during a unified telemarathon broadcast.
According to him, the Ministry of Health covers the relevant packages of medications and services for all hospitals through the medical guarantee program. Medications for flu and COVID-19 are available, and examinations are also conducted free of charge.
"We are prepared to respond to emergencies, including those of an epidemic nature. We have mandated all hospitals to maintain a three-month non-depleting supply of all necessary medications. Based on statistics and reports, all Ukrainian hospitals are stocked with medications," the minister notes.
Earlier, the Ministry of Health announced which medications in Ukraine will decrease in price by 30% starting March 1. Pharmaceutical companies will reduce the wholesale prices of 100 popular medications.
