On the evening of March 1, Russian occupation forces launched a missile strike on the Odessa seaport, damaging two civilian vessels. This was reported by the Deputy Prime Minister for the Reconstruction of Ukraine and the Minister of Community and Territorial Development of Ukraine, Oleksii Kuleba.
"This evening, the Russian Federation struck the Odessa port with a ballistic missile. As a result of the attack, two civilian workers were injured and are receiving necessary medical assistance," Kuleba wrote.
He specified that the strike damaged two civilian vessels:
"These are vessels carrying entirely civilian cargo. Other port infrastructure facilities were also affected," Kuleba emphasized.
The official clarified that this marks the 29th civilian vessel to sustain damage as a result of Russian attacks.
At the same time, Kuleba noted that despite the shelling, the Ukrainian maritime food corridor continues to operate.
The Mayor of Odessa, Hennadii Trukhanov, noted that the injured men were hospitalized.
"Two individuals injured from today’s attack on the port infrastructure have been hospitalized in city hospitals. They are receiving all necessary assistance," Trukhanov wrote.
It should be noted that the explosion in Odessa occurred around 6:00 PM.
Recall that on March 1, the Russian Federation attacked an apartment building in Zaporizhzhia.
