Starting February 1, ticket prices for certain trains will increase, with "Ukrzaliznytsia" announcing the affected routes.

The cost of international travel is set to increase by approximately 25%. The Ukrainian Railways (Ukrzaliznytsia) attributed this price hike to losses from passenger transport, which amounted to 18 billion hryvnias last year.

"Ukrzaliznytsia" announced a reduction in discounts for international trains to Poland and Hungary starting February 1. This will result in an increase in ticket prices for these routes. Meanwhile, prices for flights to Austria and Moldova will remain unchanged. This was reported by "Ukrzaliznytsia" on Tuesday, January 28.

Previously, the company had reached agreements with its foreign partners on special discounts to stimulate demand for international transportation. However, due to rising energy resource and material costs, as well as losses amounting to 18 billion hryvnias in 2024, the carrier is forced to revise these conditions, the company explained.
