"You're dirtying the tram": In the Czech Republic, a driver attacked a Ukrainian in front of a child (video).

The conflict arose because the children's shoes touched the seat. Czech officials strongly condemned the driver's behavior, which caused the child to cry due to his aggression.
"В Чехии водитель трамвая напал на украинца при ребенке на глазах: шокирующее видео."

A Prague tram driver told a Ukrainian passenger that he had no right to be in the Czech Republic and then attacked him. This was reported on February 28 by the publication Express.

A video of the conflict in the tram surfaced on social media. The enraged driver is seen in the footage forcibly removing the Ukrainian from the vehicle in front of frightened passengers, using physical force. The aggression caused a young child traveling with the man to burst into tears.

"You have no right to be here, in this country," the driver stated before hitting the Ukrainian.

For a while, the passenger attempted to argue, but eventually exited the tram. It was noted that the argument started because the child was touching the plastic seat with his shoes.

"You’re dirtying the tram here, do you understand?" the driver accused the Ukrainian in the video.

However, journalists pointed out that the furious Czech's behavior clearly indicated that the issue was not really about dirty shoes.

Reactions from Officials, Police, and the Alleged Driver

The incident was commented on by Deputy Minister of Transport Zdenek Grzib. He expressed his shock over the conflict in the tram and deemed such behavior unacceptable regardless of the circumstances, especially in front of a small child.

"I want to make it clear that public transport is for everyone, regardless of their origin or nationality," the official emphasized.

On the portal iDNES.cz, it was reported that a comment allegedly from tram driver Daniel B. appeared on social media. It remains unclear whether the post was written by a genuine participant in the conflict.

Daniel B. claimed that the video captured only part of the argument. He assured that the child was jumping on the seat in shoes, and initially, he tried to address the issue "normally." However, the Ukrainian supposedly started swearing and spat at the driver, which made him angry.

The Prague Transport Company stated that they have immediately launched an investigation, noting that the driver’s behavior contradicts not only internal rules but also the law. The press service assured that DPP does not tolerate and will not tolerate such displays of aggression, and they apologized to the passengers. The company confirmed that they are cooperating with the investigation.

The Czech police announced that they are aware of the video and "have been addressing this issue since morning." Law enforcement is looking into the circumstances of the conflict to classify the driver's actions.

"At this point, we tend to believe that this may constitute a crime against civic coexistence," the agency noted.

Interior Minister Vít Rakušan stated that regardless of what events preceded the recorded incident, the driver should not have displayed aggression in the presence of a child, let alone start a "nationality dispute."

"One more thing concerns me about this. It’s good that we have recordings of that conflict. It’s just a pity that the footage doesn’t show anyone among the other passengers stepping in to defend the man and the child who were attacked," the official remarked.

Rakušan acknowledged that everyone subconsciously wants to avoid conflict situations. However, he urged that in such cases, if one does not intervene personally, they should contact the police.

Recall that in the Philippines, two tourists from Russia died. The men were diving, and during their descent, they were swept away by a strong underwater current. As a result, one Russian drowned, while the other was attacked by sharks.

In the Sumy region, there was a conflict involving the police and military personnel. A 23-year-old man refused to comply with law enforcement's demands and subsequently used tear gas and physical force.
