Dnipropetrovsk region ranked fourth in Ukraine for the number of convictions related to corruption.

In the ranking of corrupt officials, Dnipropetrovsk region secured the 4th position.
Днепропетровская область занимает четвертую позицию в Украине по числу осуждений коррупционеров.

Since the beginning of 2024, 114 individuals involved in corruption have been held accountable in the Dnipropetrovsk region. This information is provided in the analysis by OpenDataBot, as reported by "Vidomo".

In total, Ukraine has issued 1758 sentences related to corruption since the start of 2024.

"This year, the highest number of offenders received sentences in the Lviv region - 172 or 9.8% of the total. Slightly fewer were convicted in the Vinnytsia region - 151 or 8.6%. The top three was rounded out by Odesa with 115 cases or 6.5%. It should be noted that the number of records more accurately reflects the stable functioning of the courts rather than the actual number and location of corrupt individuals,” – states the website.

The most common charges against corrupt officials are:

  1. Offering, promising, or providing unlawful benefits to a public official – 663 sentences or 37.7% of the total. This is a third less than last year.
  2. Late submission of declarations – 623 sentences or 35.4%. Compared to last year, such violations increased by 34 times. The NABU notes that data on late declaration submissions began to arrive only in April 2024, when three declaration campaigns concluded simultaneously. This amounts to tens of thousands of statements, and currently not all have been processed. It is likely that in the coming years this figure will rise and compare with the indicators of the full-scale invasion.
  3. Violation of requirements for preventing and resolving conflicts of interest – 281 sentences or 16%. This is half of what it was last year.

Since the beginning of the full-scale war, only 1.5% of corrupt individuals in Ukraine have been imprisoned, while 98% received fines.

It was previously reported that Dnipropetrovsk region ranked among the top three in open bankruptcy cases.
