On the Dnieper Reservoir, a violator caused damages exceeding 112,000 UAH. This was reported by "Vydomo" citing the fisheries patrol of Dnipropetrovsk region.
Fisheries patrol officers uncovered a serious violation of fishing regulations on the Dnieper Reservoir near the village of Obukhivka in the Dnipro district on January 25.
A person was fishing from the shore using a snagging method. With the help of a sharp fishing tool, the violator caught: 66 flounders, 5 breams, and 1 roach. The total weight of the illegally harvested aquatic biological resources amounted to 10 kilograms. The damage caused to fish stocks is estimated at 112,693 UAH.
An administrative offense report has been drawn up under part 4 of article 85 of the Code of Ukraine on Administrative Offenses. Additionally, the police were called to the scene. Currently, the question of initiating a criminal case under article 249 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (illegal fishing or other aquatic resource exploitation) is being considered. The fishing tool has been confiscated by the investigator. The illegally caught aquatic biological resources were released back into their natural habitat.
