A thief was caught by police in Dnipropetrovsk region after cutting a cable and attempting to pull it out. (PHOTO)

Last night in Dnipro, a suspect was apprehended for stealing cable. The incident was reported to the emergency line 102 by vigilant residents of the Chechelovsky district of the city. They witnessed the thief's actions. An unidentified man entered a communication well and was cutting the cable. This was reported by "Vidomo," citing the Dnipropetrovsk police.

The nearest patrol police unit in Dnipro was dispatched to the location. Upon arriving at the scene, the officers found an open manhole of the communication well.

Descending into it, the police discovered a man who had already cut part of the cable and was attempting to pull it out of the well. Apparently, the criminal did not expect the law enforcement's swift arrival.

At the time of his arrest, the man resisted. The patrol officers promptly stopped his illegal activities and apprehended the suspect. All items seized from him during the arrest were properly documented and handed over to the investigative team.
