In Pavlograd, a man has been sentenced to death for brutally beating his wife to death.

The incident became the subject of judicial proceedings, where the accused denied his guilt. This was reported by "Vydomo" citing Behemoth.

According to the case materials, the evening began as usual in the family. The accused and his wife were on their property. At some point, a conflict arose between them. During the argument, the woman fell and hit the back of her head against the wall.

After that, the accused, according to witnesses, struck her with his left palm in the face and began to drag her towards the threshold of the house. Witness testimonies also indicated that he pulled her by the leg up the stairs and carried her into the bedroom, where he laid her on the floor.

At that moment, the wife started to curse, which seemingly enraged the accused. He delivered at least four to five kicks with his right foot to her torso. These actions proved fatal: the woman died on the spot from her injuries, including multiple rib fractures and ruptured lungs.

In court, the accused presented his version of events. He claimed that his wife had been gone for a long time that evening, and he, worried, went to the store, where he found her inebriated. According to him, she kept falling and was unable to move on her own. When they returned home, an argument ensued, during which his wife began to insult him with vulgar language.

As a result of this emotional tension, he stated that he could not take it anymore and struck her once on the ear with his palm. After that, he claimed, the woman hit her head against the wall and fell.

This version of events raised numerous questions among law enforcement representatives. Consequently, the court ruled to find the accused guilty of committing a criminal offense under part 2 of Article 121 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. He was sentenced to 8 years and 6 months of imprisonment.
